This artwork is a collage on old vintage barn wood. It features a tin metal card with the image of a young Victorian boy along with a vintage key and an equally vintage covered escutcheon. The tin metal card has been given a decorative pattern from a stencil using gesso to give it a unique texture under the collage and treated with a patina. The image of the boy is solvent transferred from a laser print. The work is topped with a vintage brass plaque. The base for this work is old Indiana barn wood, which has been heat disinfected, just in case. While the work will stand by itself (though a bit wobbly), it is intended to hang on a wall ... a hanger is on the back.
The art card is about 3-inches by 6-inches; the overall piece is about 11 x 5 x 1-1/4 inches. All this is one-of-a-kind, made in America by hand. Great looking art piece that can also be included into other arts and crafts projects … attach it to the top of a box … frame it if you like … integrate it into a larger collage or found object art work.
